Cisco Live 2014 (#CLUS), what an event! Opengear along with many other companies participated in this important annual event, Cisco’s premier education and training event for IT professionals. Attendance at the event exceeded 20,000. If you attended, or have ever attended Cisco Live, you understand that in addition to the primary goal of gaining knowledge about the latest IT trends, technologies and product releases, there is an unwritten goal to collect lots of swag. T-shirts of all types were aplenty (full disclosure, Opengear gave out t-shirts). A number of vendors gave away swords, although I didn’t see any dragons in the aisles. Beer was available during the nightly World of Solutions Reception which aided in the gathering of new knowledge and, of course, swag. Still no dragons in the aisles, but Imagine Dragons did perform at the Customer Appreciation Event.

The Opengear booth was busy throughout the event with attendees seeking information on out-of- band management, especially our industry leading cellular out-of-band-management portfolio. In fact, the latest addition to the cellular portfolio, the ACM5508-2-L-I, was on display in the booth. The attendees were awesome and hopefully learned as much about us as we did about them, their environments and the issues they face every day regarding secure out-of-band remote management. Cisco Live is one of most important, and most fun, shows during the year. 2014 was our 4th consecutive year of attending this show in the US, plus we participate in many of the global shows as well. This year was even more important for us since we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary this month!
