Is IPv6 support available? By default, all Opengear devices operate in IPv4-only mode. However they may also be configured to operate in dual-stack mode, enabling both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols. To enable : - Select System: IP then click the General Settings tab - Check Enable IPv6 and click Apply Once you have enabled IPv6, Network and Management LAN interfaces are automatically set up to acquire an address using stateless autoconfiguration. To set a static IPv6 address: - Select System: IP then click the Network Interface or Management LAN Interface tab - Scroll down to IPv6 Settings, enter an IPv6 Address and IPv6 Subnet Mask and click Apply Limitations IPv6 support is limited in V2.5 in that the following services and functions do not yet support IPv6: - DHCP server - Dial-in and dial-out - The Out-of-Band/Failover interface on IMG products - SMTP, SNMP and Nagios alerts - Nagios and SDT for Nagios - SDT Connector - IPMI power devices - Network time client - Remote system log - Remote log storage The following services have these additional limitations using IPv6: - Using serial ports in console server mode, changing TCP port bases from their standard settings (2000, 3000, etc.) affects IPv4 connections only - Cascaded Ports can only be accessed over IPv6 by connecting to port 22 of the Opengear device using a username such as root:serial, then selecting the cascaded serial port |
