Wireless LAN on IMG4004 and KCS61xx
The IMG4004-5 supports a wireless LAN connection using the Opengear WUBR-101 802.11g USB dongle or WPCR-501 Wireless-N 802.11n cardbus adapter. The KCS61xx supports the Opengear WUBR-101 802.11g USB dongle only.
The cardbus adapter or USB dongle wireless device will then be auto-detected on power up and you will be presented with a new Wireless LAN Interface menu in the System:IP menu:
- Configure the IP settings of the wireless LAN. The wireless LAN when enabled will operate as the main network connection to the console server. Failover is available (though not enabled by default). Use Failover Interface to select the device to failover to in case of wireless outage and specify Probe Addresses of the peers to probed for connectivity detection
- Select a wirless network by entering the appropriate SSID and Wireless Network Type (Infrastructure) then selecting WEP/ WPA and entering the Key/ Authentication/ Encryption
The Wireless screen in Status:Staistics will display all the locally accessible wireless LANs (with SSID and Encryption/Authentication settings). You can also use this screen to confirm you have successfully connected to the selected access point
