Protect your network assets, gain access and remediate faults.
As fiber rollouts continue worldwide at a rapid rate, more and more of our customers are coming to us with requirements to not only to provide management of the core network equipment, but also to monitor the physical space around this equipment such as cabinets, wiring closets or cages.
Roadside communications cabinets are a good example of this. A recent project in Australia saw the installation of 40 communications cabinets along an 8 kilometre stretch of a motorway. Each cabinet contained fibrer optic switches, routers and other communications equipment for control and management of electronic speed signs and variable message signs (VMS). The customer needed secure and easy access to their equipment for management purposes, along with out-of-band access in the case of failures. The roadside locality also called for a way to monitor the physical security of the cabinets and the surrounding area.
