Ensure FIPS 140 compliance

Opengear solutions ensure that Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) are adhered to. Published by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and specific to cryptographic modules, FIPS 140-2 are security requirements that cover 11 areas related to design.

All Opengear devices have been tested and validated by US and Canadian governments ensuring that they meet 140-2 requirements.

Having partnered with OSSI and the OpenSSL projects, Opengear sponsors an extension of the OpenSSL Object Module v1.2 validation, ensuring that it meets the FIPS 140-2 standards for ARM processors. Embedded FIPS 140-2 OpenSSL cryptographic modules located in Opengear devices have been validated to meet the FIPS 140-2 standards and have received certificate #1051. When using SSH, HTTPS or SDT Connector to connect any service on the console servers when in FIPS mode, government agencies will be using the FIPS compliant module. All Opengear also meet the requirements of the Trade Agreements Act.
