The expanded R&D facility comes amid continued 50% year-over-year sales growth

Brisbane, AU – June 20, 2016 – Opengear (www.opengear.com), a leading provider of critical infrastructure management solutions through advanced console serversremote managementmonitoring, and cellular out-of-band products, today announced the opening of its new office in Brisbane as it prepares for continued customer demand across Australia and Asia Pacific.

This new dual-level, 568 square metre facility – located at 630 Coronation Drive in Toowong – becomes Opengear’s main research and development office. It will house an engineering team responsible for the hardware design and software development of Opengear’s award-winning product line. Opengear’s network resilience products have been honoured by the Queensland and Australian iAwards, CRN (as a Tech Innovator), and Gartner (as a Cool Vendor).

This expanded facility is the result of Opengear’s continued growth in delivering intelligent solutions – featuring the company’s Smart OOB™ and Failover to Cellular™ technologies – for resilient management of critical IT and communications infrastructure. Opengear selected Toowong as the location for its new R&D centre in part because of the proximity to the prestigious University of Queensland, and for the local availability of skilled software and hardware engineers.

Opengear has long had a strong presence in Brisbane. Customers in the area using Opengear solutions to manage their critical networks include the Queensland Police Department, Energex, NextDC, the University of Queensland, Griffith University, the Department of Transport, Ergon Energy, and Queensland Rail.

“We’re proud to have had over a decade of success helping organizations in Queensland, in Australia, and across the APAC region maintain business continuity thanks to Opengear’s solutions,” said Rick Stevenson, CEO, Opengear. “Our new facility will enable us to meet growing demand and continue to develop innovative technologies in IT infrastructure management. We’re pleased to invite local Opengear end users, our resellers and channel partners, and other interested individuals to attend.”

The opening will be celebrated on June 23rd with festivities beginning at 5:30 in the afternoon. Attendees can enjoy refreshments and access to Opengear executive leaders and engineers, as well as available training workshops on the latest Opengear solution capabilities. An additional earlier training workshop for attendees will be held starting at 4:00pm; registration will be required as space is limited.
