Opengear NetOps Automation

The NetOps Automation Platform is rethinking the out-of-band management network as a software application fabric, extending automation to the dark corners of your network.

Secure Provisioning for NetOps Automation. NetOps Modules package up standard DevOps tools into purpose-built automation apps, or modules. These modules take the lessons learned from our biggest automation-first users and make them accessible to our wider user base. The Secure Provisioning module allows users to provision remote networks securely, remotely, and automatically – from scratch – with no-pre-existing LAN or WAN in place.

Deploying SD-WAN? What kind of day will you have?

Deploying SD-WAN? What kind of day will you have?

Learn more about SD-WAN and Out-of-Band.

Deploying SD-WAN has universal benefits which include reducing costs and ensuring secure connections however, it can create points of failure.

Steve and John have both deployed SD-WAN – but only one of these network engineers has Smart Out-of-Band by Opengear so in the event of an outage they’re prepared. Who will be rolling trucks and who will be enjoying a cool pina colada? Watch the video to find out.

Cloud Hosting with Smart Out-of-Band

Cloud Hosting with Smart Out-of-Band

Opengear helped one of the world’s largest internet hosting companies identify the right solution to support their 27 data centers spanning 19 countries. Based in Europe, the IT management team needed out-of-band management to support their 300,000 servers and 18 million applications.

Choosing Opengear’s CM7116 and CM7132 console servers, the administrators were able to seamlessly configure the units and attached devices and now these solutions are at each location. The organization has the ability to remotely manage their servers and IT infrastructure. Having immediate access to these, downtime has been reduced from days to minutes providing a better experience for their over one million customers.

Network Resilience: An Extreme Case of Remote Network Management

Network Resilience: An Extreme Case of Remote Network Management

What Does the Growth of IoT Mean for IT Infrastructure?

Railroads have a unique set of challenges when establishing network resilience, these include regulatory restrictions, safety standards and compliance. In an effort to resolve these, a Class 1 Railroad decided to approach Opengear to discuss remote network management for their organization.

Thousands of miles of track and hundreds of monitoring stations across the United States poses a challenge when connecting network devices. The railroad was losing network connectivity and flying blind when it came to scheduling, maintenance and track switches. To monitor and maintain connectivity, the organization tested Opengear’s solution for cellular out-of-band capabilities.

For 6 months, the railroad rigorously tested the ACM7004-2-LMV with built in cellular. To ensure that the devices met their requirements, could perform in extreme environments without interruptions from vibrations and was able to be easily used by network administrators, the devices network resilience capabilities were tested.

Once testing was completed, Opengear’s devices were the clear solution. The railroad deployed the Resilience Gateway at each of their key locations, resulting with over 150 units across their network.  The anticipated result is to reduce truck rolls by 50%, repair connectivity in a matter of minutes and ensure network resilience.

Resilient Retail Networks: Out-of-Band Management in Stores and Warehouses

Opengear helped a global company improve network resiliency across their 106 corporate and venue sites throughout Europe. To enable always-on network availability and ensure business continuity, they chose to implement Opengear’s total solution as part of their SD-WAN roll out. This included utilizing Lighthouse for centralized management – enabling the organization to view all the sites through just one point – and pairing that with the ACM7000 Resilience Gateway.

Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) enables the organization to reduce on-site visits required to turn up the SD-WAN before the solution was on site. If any errors do occur, everything can be fixed remotely through the Opengear device.

The teams are now using Opengear’s solutions in each of their 106 remote sites, allowing them to remediate any issues in minutes, instead of hours and providing a view of the cross-section of all of their sites. The organization now has always-on network availability, reduced downtime, failover with a cellular card and true out-of-band.
