Network Resilience:
The Key to Uptime in the Data Center
On Demand
Failure is not an option when you’re managing a Data Center. So to be sure that the operation is reliable, all parts of the data center must be considered – from the applications software at the top of the stack, through to the physical IT infrastructure in the rack, and down to the facilities supporting that hardware.
Resilience is important in all three of these layers. The software must be managed robustly via complex virtualization approaches and cloud platforms; the IT hardware can be strengthened with a combination of out-of-band management and redundant equipment; and the provision of appropriate power, cooling and other support systems maintains a resilient operating environment.
In this webinar, Mark Harris of the Uptime Institute, shares his thoughts on the key factors behind operating a resilient data center. We also discuss some of the findings in the Uptime Institute’s 2020 Data Center Industry Survey, which reveal what operators around the world are thinking, doing and planning in the areas of efficiency, resiliency, and new technology adoption.
The panel, moderated by Roy Chua of AvidThink, also features Ryan Hogg, Sr Product Manager at Opengear, who discusses the role of Out-of-Band management in building a resilient solution.
Here’s what you’ll find in this webinar:
- Explore the complexity of resilience in the Data Center
- Hear the latest research from the Uptime Institute
- Understand the value of Out-of-Band Management in a resilient network
