Opengear (www.opengear.com) is a leading provider of critical infrastructure management solutions through advanced console servers, remote management, monitoring, and cellular out-of-band products. Founded in Australia 10 years ago, Opengear generates 90 per cent of its revenues from exports and has achieved major success in the US, which is its largest market.
Opengear is also building its business in Europe, from where it reaches into Asia, including the recent major sale to Turkish banking group, Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası. Opengear reports its revenues have grown more than 50 per cent annually during the past three years.
Opengear CEO Rick Stevenson; Vice President Engineering and Asia Sales Tony Merenda and Software Engineering Manager Ken Wilson will represent the firm at Cisco Live! which runs from March 18-21 2014 in Melbourne. Cisco Live! is Cisco’s single largest Australian educational and training event of the year, attracting more than 2000 IT and communications professionals.
Rick Stevenson said demand from the US market was leading the company’s development. “In the US, we started selling to SMBs and over a few short years developed a reputation that led to large enterprise deals,” he said.
“Now, we’re working with tier one customers in sectors such as telecommunications, banking, insurance, energy, tertiary education, media/entertainment and healthcare.
“In Australia, we’re also being invited into larger organisations that want to take advantage of our industry-leading features such as integrated cellular remote access. However, the traditional route into those opportunities in this country is through system integrators who can incorporate Opengear’s technology into a larger solution.
“Cisco Live! will provide us with the opportunity to connect with potential business partners who can see mutual advantage in working with Opengear.”
Opengear has distinguished itself as a global leader in designing and delivering devices for high density out-of-band management of critical IT infrastructure over 3G/4G mobile broadband. You can visit Opengear on Stand 51 at Cisco Live! Melbourne from Wednesday, March 19, to Friday, March 21.
